Home EV charging, done to code.

Most Adelaide homes want a dedicated Level 2 AC charger — typically 7 kW single-phase (about 40 km of range per hour for many EVs) or 11–22 kW where three-phase supply allows. That is a wall-mounted unit with a Type 2 plug (the standard for Tesla, BYD, Hyundai, Kia, MG and most current EVs sold in Australia), not a normal power point.

We install tethered units (cable fixed to the box) and socket-style chargers (you use the cable that came with the car). Brands we commonly fit include Tesla Wall Connector, Zappi, Fronius, EO and other AS/NZS-compliant units — or we install a charger you have already bought once we confirm it suits your supply and parking spot.

Every job starts with your switchboard and meter: spare capacity, safety switches, cable route to the garage or carport, and whether a board upgrade is needed before the charger goes on the wall. You get clear pricing before we start — charger supply, electrical work and any board work quoted together so there are no surprises on install day.

We mount and commission Level 2 units where you park — garage, carport or driveway wall — with a dedicated circuit from the switchboard.

Before install day

Switchboard and supply come first.

A charger is only as good as the board behind it. We assess load, spare ways and RCD protection before we quote the install.

  • Check whether your existing board has capacity — or price an upgrade in the same quote.
  • Plan the cable route: roof space, trench or surface conduit where that is the honest option.
  • Confirm parking position, wall strength and distance from the switchboard.

Install day

Mounted, tested, and walked through with you.

We do not leave a box on the wall and disappear. You know how to start a charge, what the lights mean, and when to call us.

  • Mount the unit, run and terminate the circuit, test and commission.
  • Set up the app if it is a smart unit — Wi-Fi, schedules, lock-off if needed.
  • Label the new circuit at the board and leave the work area tidy.

Why not a power point?

A GPO is slow — and often not safe for the load.

A 10 A general-purpose outlet might add a handful of kilometres per hour and runs for hours on end. A proper charger is faster, on its own circuit, and what insurers and wiring rules expect.

  • Dedicated circuit and correct cable size — no sharing with the laundry.
  • RCD protection and compliance documentation for a fixed appliance.
  • Room to add a second charger later if the board is sized properly now.
